Guest Powder Bath - Library & Gallery

Project Type

Interior Design

Location

Coconut Grove

This project has been one of my absolute favorites to design, and the concept behind it is one I find myself coming back to again and again. From the very beginning, I asked myself a question that completely shaped the direction of the space: why does a guest bathroom have to feel like a guest bathroom at all?

What if instead, you walked through the door and found yourself in a cozy library? Or stumbled into a private art gallery? Or discovered some unexpected, secret room tucked inside a British country cottage that nobody told you about? That sense of delightful surprise became the entire brief.
Small spaces are so often treated as afterthoughts in a home, assigned the leftover budget and the least creative energy. But I believe they deserve just as much attention, care, and personality as the grandest room in the house. Sometimes even more. And that is exactly the philosophy this bathroom was designed around.

Every detail was chosen with intention. Every layer of style and personality was added purposefully. The goal was not simply to design a functional bathroom but to create a genuine experience for every single guest who opens that door. So I will leave you with this: is it a bathroom, an art gallery, or a mini library? To me it is beautifully all three. But I would love for you to decide!
