Elegantly Pink: The Rosy Living Room of My Dreams!
Project Type
Interior Design
Location
Coconut Grove
To create this rosy space, I started with the largest art piece! It was purchased while traveling in Italy and later came the other 2 paintings by the same artist. The idea was to create “bubbles” on the wall with them. As we already owned the pink sofas, it was the beginning of my pink dreams coming true! Setting this living room up had its own challenges because I had to work with asymmetry (even thought it may not be obvious to many). I offset the entire living room toward one side to add a sideboard and pushed that sideboard to one side as well to incorporate a piece that belonged to my grandparents- a vintage Japanese scroll. There was also the matter of building in a bench along the far wall for added storage and seating capacity. With each of these elements, the entire living room was pushed one way or another… All of this meant the vintage Asian screen on the ceiling had to follow suit. It was quite a challenge but it turned out so beautifully. Sometimes design challenges create the most stunning, unique spaces and I couldn’t be more proud of this project!
