Petite Townhome in Doral
Project Type
Interior Design
Location
Doral
When this client came to me, her brief was refreshingly honest: a new construction, cookie cutter townhome in desperate need of personality. And she was absolutely right. Fresh out of the builder's hands, the space had all the charm of a catalog page and none of the soul of a real home. My job was to change that completely.
The vision was modern mid-century style with bright, bold colors that would make the homeowner feel like her personality was present in every single room. No builder specials. No generic finishes. Just a space that felt unmistakably hers.
The project came with a strict budget, which I always welcome as a creative challenge. The owner lived out of the country and planned to use the home sparingly, so every dollar needed to work as hard as possible. Her preferred color palette of navy and orange, blacks and whites gave us a clear and exciting direction to work from. Each room had its own distinct color palette request and function, and we executed each one with care and intention.
In the end, the townhome had its own unique personality, fully reflective of its owner's preferences and spirit. The builder special went straight out the door. Problem solved, design successful!
