This amazing mural was a true collaboration between Daniela Nuila of Mint Decor, Miami and the incredibly talented Georgeta Fondos of @muralsbygeorgeta — and the concept behind it is one of the most imaginative and layered ideas we have ever brought to life together.
The starting point was a Chinoiserie-inspired mural, but we never wanted to do something expected or conventional. Chinoiserie on its own is already beautiful and rich with detail, but we wanted to take it somewhere entirely new. So we introduced a twist that transformed a gorgeous mural into something truly magical.
The concept was a garden within a garden. The outer world is a lush, intricate Chinoiserie landscape full of the delicate botanicals and artistry that define the style. But nestled within the bamboo circles throughout the mural lies something unexpected and breathtaking: a desert landscape. As if the bamboo circles are portals or windows into another world entirely, offering a glimpse of wide open desert vistas from within the garden setting.
The contrast between the two worlds is what makes it so captivating. Lush and spare. Intricate and open. East meets West in the most artistic, dreamlike way imaginable. A magical view, indeed.
