Chic Guest Bedroom with an Italian Flair!

This beautiful waterfront apartment in Coconut Grove has such an amazing view… And with a water view, there should be a gorgeous interior to match. The apartment was purchased furnished by my clients and they kept the seller’s furniture for years, always knowing they would one day remodel. After much debate- they decided to move forward, but it had to be in phases. It’s important to note here that the owners wanted to change out the carpet for flooring and do major renovation in the kitchen and bathrooms- but that would have to wait for a later date. For now, the intention was to get rid of the old furniture that came with the apartment, re-design the space using new furnishings of their choice and infuse their unique style and personality into every little corner of this beloved apartment.

For the palette: I chose to go with pastel hues in light pinks and greyish blues. It was the best way to balance out the leopard print wall-to-wall carpet that still remained. In other words- embrace it! The living room benefited from some bright colors, starting with the sky blue sofa, while the guest room got the chicest makeover of all featuring a custom wall-to-wall headboard! But the perfect finishing touch in this design was the art work! As the clients were Italian- they had a collection of beautiful Italian movie posters they saved for years. That was so lucky for me! I took the art and sprinkled it all over the apartment. These pieces worked so beautifully with the color palette and the apartment feels light, well-designed and so full of love. It’s the personal touches that make this design so special.
