Bedroom With a View!

This primary bedroom came with a few design and layout challenges because it has a split-level entry, an entire wall of windows and 2 openings on the other side. Literally, there are no full walls present in this space to work with (except the bed wall), which means really thinking of function and furniture placement! Because the room is wide open with no separation, it was very important to create distinct spaces within the larger space. The first order of business in my plan was to create a library of sorts in the entry, which required taking certain elements into consideration. First: there were steps coming up into the bedroom and Second: a capsule- shaped elevator right in the middle of the entry made it a bit challenging to work around. To give the entry its own personality, I chose to go with a beautiful green to make a statement and have the library stand alone in the room as its own space within the larger space, setting the tone for what’s inside. The wallpaper continues the green hue which is also present in the stone in the primary bathroom. The library/entry sitting area is now the most elegant and welcoming part of this bedroom and the view from this spot- perfect for afternoon tea and conversation!
