A TV Room with a Vintage Twist

Project Type

Interior Design

Location

Coconut Grove

This TV room started with a happy accident of a find and honestly, those are often the best kind of projects to design.

While searching online, I stumbled upon a set of vintage astrological prints from the 1950s that I immediately fell in love with. The seller only had a partial set available, but rather than wait for the perfect complete collection, I went for it. What I had was more than enough to become the jumping-off point for every single element in the room.

Each print was slightly different, which made choosing the right frame both the biggest challenge and the most fun part of the process. The frame needed to be neutral enough to unify all of the prints without competing with any individual one. Once that decision was made, everything else followed naturally. The frame choice led me directly to the gorgeous geometric laser-cut velvet fabric used for the sectional: a stunning material that felt perfectly in conversation with the vintage artwork above it.

To bring in the green tones from the prints and break up the neutral sofa hues, I introduced a beautifully complex green geometric chair fabric that adds depth and visual interest without disrupting the balance.

Pops of color appear throughout the entire space, right down to the vintage-inspired mint green light fixture. Everything feels layered and rich, yet perfectly balanced. It's a space that's as interesting to sit in as it is beautiful to look at.

Stylized furniture icons including sofa, chair, lamp, and decor elements, representing modern interior design concepts in Miami.
