Artsy & Chic: A Teenage Girl's Eclectic Bedroom

This gorgeous bedroom is one of those spaces that tells you everything you need to know about its owner the moment you walk in — and I mean that as the highest possible compliment.

The ceiling was where it all began. My client loves greens and nature deeply, so my very first instinct was to cover that ceiling in an oversized, lush print of leaves. It's gutsy, it's beautiful, and it sets an artsy, nature-forward tone that anchors the entire room from above. A bold ceiling wallpaper isn't for the faint of heart, but for this client, it was absolutely perfect.

From there, the design became a true celebration of who she is. As an artist herself, she came to me with a clear sense of what she loved: Japanese culture, unique art and figurines collected with intention, and a dedicated space within the bedroom where she could create her own work. That creative corner was non-negotiable, and rightfully so.

I leaned into bold prints, texture-rich textiles, and funky lighting elements throughout to honor her layered, expressive personality. Every choice was made with her spirit in mind. The result is a one-of-a-kind bedroom for a truly special and talented woman. One that inspires her every single day.
