A Little Girl’s Room Fit for a Princess (or Queen)
Project Type
Interior Design
Location
Coconut Grove
Long and narrow rooms come with their own set of design puzzles, and this one was no exception. With a layout that could have easily felt like a hallway with furniture in it, the challenge was to create a space that felt purposeful, functional, and fun all at once. The solution? Bamboo room dividers, and lots of creative thinking.
By strategically placing the dividers throughout the room, I was able to carve out three completely distinct areas within the same footprint. A semi-private desk area tucked in the back for focused work and study. A dedicated bedroom area that feels like its own cozy retreat. And a hangout space anchored by a sofa for all those important moments of rest and play. The bamboo dividers were not only cost-effective but singularly important in making all three zones feel intentional rather than improvised.
The style landed somewhere between Asian-inspired and Boho, and I absolutely love how it came together. A printed mustard yellow wallpaper frames the desk area in the back, giving it a bright, cheerful pop of color that makes it feel special. Pale pink walls throughout provide the perfect soft balance to the beautiful accents and furniture layered in around it.
The perfect little girl's room? I'd say so!
