Trés Chic! A French/English Home Montessori Classroom

This home classroom was designed for a close friend. She taught my girls when they were younger and when she’s not teaching at school, she tutors and teaches all kinds of activities in her beautiful home classroom. Luckily, she had this converted terrace that was long and a step down from the main space- thereby creating the perfect layout for the most beautiful home classroom ever! Being that it is a Montessori classroom, there were restrictions of type and height of furniture, as well as the set up for classroom items. We placed ample low storage throughout, then grounded the space using rug tiles for a seamless, continuous flooring option the kids could feel comfortable sitting on when in groups. I placed a small sitting space in the corner for a one-on-one teaching station, providing her with many options for activities and teaching moments. What a perfect space to learn and grow!
