The Palms

The Palms was a labor of love for me. Having purchased two different apartments in a waterfront condo to run them as Airbnb’s, no details were spared design-wise. For this apartment, I was greatly inspired by the Los Angeles-based band, “The Palms.” Hence, the name for the apartment! Their music inspired me through a tough time in my life so I started off with a moody wallpaper featuring palm leaves and the design took off from there. To date, it is one of my most favorite spaces to have designed. The apartment was only 650 sq ft. So I had to be smart about using built-ins, removing closet doors and in some places, removing closets altogether to create a coffee bar that was greatly needed for guests. Small spaces require smart design and this can be beautiful too.
