Corner Waterfront Condo in Coconut Grove - Sonesta Hotel
Project Type
Interior Design
Location
Coconut Grove
This corner waterfront apartment had so much potential hiding behind its original hotel-style finishes and it was so satisfying to pull it out. The goal was to completely shed that generic, builder-grade feel and replace it with something exciting, personal, and full of life. Mission accomplished.
The design direction came naturally from the location itself. Waterfront living calls for ocean and sun vibes, so I leaned into turquoise and golden yellows throughout. Colors that feel energetic and warm without ever feeling overdone. They bounce off the natural light beautifully and make the whole space feel like a permanent vacation.
What really elevated this project, though, was the owner's collection of original vintage art. It was already amazing on its own. The kind of pieces that have real character and tell a story. Layering those into the design only deepened the unique, curated feeling this apartment naturally imparts. It never feels like a staged space. It feels lived-in, loved, and completely one of a kind.
And then there's my absolute favorite detail: the feature wall in the master bedroom with the layered lampshades. It's unexpected, it's bold, and it's just brilliant. That wall alone makes the whole room.
