A Rental Apartment with a Personality

This project was designed specifically to be rented out as an Airbnb, and that changes everything about how I approach a space. Having designed and managed Airbnbs myself, I always come in with a few guiding questions that shape every single decision: How will this space actually function for a guest? How can I design it beautifully while respecting a strict timeline and budget? And most importantly: what's going to make someone choose this listing over the millions of others out there?

That last question is where great design becomes a business strategy.

For this project, the bold red granite floors were the starting point, and the challenge. Rather than fight them, I leaned in and chose unique, statement wallpapers that could coordinate with and balance that intensity. Once that foundation was set, everything else fell into place. I sourced a few key new pieces and worked creatively with furniture the owners already had, blending both seamlessly into one cohesive, guest-ready space.

The result was a stunning Airbnb that came in on time and on budget. To this day, the owners have done incredibly well with it. And honestly, that never gets old. Seeing a design perform is the best feeling there is.
